Final Fantasy VI was released by developer Square for the Super Nintendo in 1994, and is widely considered one of the best RPGs of all time, and is my favorite RPG of all time. The soundtrack by Nobuo Uematsu is the series composer at the peak of his 16-bit skills.

Music label Channel 3 Records has announced a vinyl release of the Final Fantasy VI inspired album Esperwave by Natsukashii. The album is a modern interpretation of one of the best video game soundtracks of all time. Natsukashii’s take on these tracks defies definition by genre, but the songs are all beautiful new versions of these classic tunes.

The album features gorgeous cover art by Final Fantasy series illustrator Yoshitaka Amano. The album will be available for order on August 13, 2021.
