River City Girls Collector’s Edition with CD soundtrack available
River City Girls was released by WayForward for NIntendo Switch, Playstation 4, and Xbox One in 2019. The brawler featured incredible pixel-art accompanied by anime/manga style cutscenes. It was incredibly fun, particularly with a couch co-op partner.
While the rest of the game is great, the soundtrack stood out as one of the highlights of the year, winning Best Chiptune/Retro Score at the 2019 Game Music Awards. The catchy soundtrack was largely composed by Megan McDuffie, with contributions from Chipzel, Cristina Vee, Dale North, and NateWantsToBattle. Along with a prequel and sequel that are announced, River City Girls is being ported to the Playstation 5. Limited Run Games has a Collector’s Edition of River City Girls available that includes a 2 CD version of the soundtrack. This Playstation 5 edition is available for pre-order until September 12th, 2021.
