Final Fantasy 35th Anniversary vinyl and Nobuo Uematsu arrangement album Modulation available for pre-order

Final Fantasy 35th Anniversary vinyl set

Square released the first Final Fantasy game for the Famicom in 1987. The series has seen fifteen main releases since 1987. Including the numerous spin-offs, the franchise has sold over 150 million units over the past 35 years. Square Enix has recently announced two Final Fantasy compilation albums available on vinyl.

In celebration of the 35th anniversary of the Final Fantasy series, Square Enix announced a two disc vinyl orchestral compilation. While the full track list has not been announced, Square Enix has said that each mainline game will be represented. “One Winged Angel” and “Zanarkand” from Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy X, respectively, have been announced. This 35th anniversary set also features new cover artwork by series designer Yoshitaka Amano.

The second vinyl release is a single disc featuring songs from the first ten Final Fantasy games. The album features one song from each game. Nobuo Uematsu, who composed the soundtracks to the first nine main games in the series, is re-arranging these tracks himself.

Both albums are expected to be released Fall/Winter 2022.
