Limited Final Fantasy Distant Worlds 100th Concert Album For Sale
The Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY series of symphony concert performances has been ongoing since 2007. The concert series features music largely composed by famed series composer Nobuo Uematsu. The shows are directed and conducted by the Grammy-winning Arnie Roth, who has been associated with Final Fantasy concerts since the first concert tour, titled Dear Friends - Music from Final Fantasy, in 2005.
In January 2015, the Distant Worlds tour held special performances in Japan to celebrate its 100th performance. This series, titled Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY: The Journey of 100 took place in Tokyo on January 22nd and 23rd, with another concert taking place on January 24th in Osaka. It’s unclear which of the performances was the 100th performance, because the Distant Worlds website lists only 76 performances prior to these, so that number presumably includes some of the prior Dear Friends performances.
In April 2015, Square Enix released a Blu-ray of one of the Tokyo performances of The Journey of 100. An audio-only CD release of this performance was available for purchase at the 2017 Tokyo Game Show Square Enix merchandise booth. Unfortunately, this album was never widely released, until now.
The Square Enix store now has a limited number of CDs available for the Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY: The Journey of 100.
