The remastered soundtrack to the Ghost Trick re-release is only available through Capcom’s online Japanese store

Capcom developed and published Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective for the Nintendo DS in Japan on June 19, 2010, followed by a worldwide release in January of 2011. The puzzle heavy adventure game features a spirit that the player directs to manipulate items in the environment, with the overall goal of solving a murder mystery. Ghost Trick was directed by Shu Takumi, who created the Ace Attorney series and directed that original trilogy. Ghost Trick is also notable for being composed by Masakazu Sugimori, who composed the first two games in the Ace Attorney series. The Ace Attorney games are known for their memorable soundtracks, and Ghost Trick lives up to Sugimori’s reputation as a composer of lively and catchy tracks.

During the March 2023 Capcom Spotlight stream, Capcom announced the release day for a remaster of Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective for Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Steam on June 30th, 2023. Takami himself appeared in the stream, and specified that the soundtrack will be remastered by Yasumasa Kitagawa, the composer of The Great Ace Attorney series. Additionally, Takami announced that Masakazu Sugimori has contributed some original tracks to this remaster.

Unfortunately, Capcom is only releasing this game digitally in the West. However, the company is releasing physical versions of the game in Japan, and these are available at some importers like Playasia. The Japan exclusive Capcom online store has the game’s soundtrack available to order within Japan in multiple forms: as part of the collector’s editions of the game, and as a standalone CD set. The two CD soundtrack includes the games 37 tracks, along with an additional bonus track.

While customers outside of Japan cannot order these items, certain poxy services may be able to help Westerners obtain a copy. I myself have used Japan Rabbit, but there are other options like Buyee and Zen Market. The Capcom online store does limit the amount of copies any single address can purchase, so unfortunately these soundtracks may be quite limited.
