Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition vinyl available for pre-order
Chrono Cross was released by Square for the original PlayStation in Japan in 1999, and in North America in 2000. While not a direct sequel to the Super Nintendo classic Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross does have some ties to the original game. Square Enix is releasing an HD remaster of Chrono Cross in April 2022 for the Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. In addition to remastered graphics, it will include Radical Dreamers, which is a Chrono Trigger side story text adventure with similar themes to Chrono Cross. Radical Dreamers was released on the Super Famicom Satellaview in 1996. The 2022 release of Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition is the first time this side story is available outside Japan.
Chrono Cross, has one of the most acclaimed soundtracks of all time. Its composer, Yasunori Mitsuda, also largely composed the soundtrack to Chrono Trigger, which was his first opportunity to shine. He returned for Chrono Cross, and produced one of the most beautiful albums ever. He has remastered this classic soundtrack for the new version of this game. Square Enic is releasing a vinyl which contains eight newly arranged versions of Mitsuda’s tracks. Pre-orders are available for a planned release in June 2022.
