There are some games that are so visually interesting that they demand attention, and Vokabulantis is one of those. Developed by Kong Orange, along with stop motion studio Wired Fly, the co-op puzzle platformer strives to convey the emotional connection between two characters through gameplay. If that doesn’t sound ambitious enough, the visual design is hand crafted puppets and backgrounds by veterans of the stop motion industry.

The game has a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter which closes on April 16th, 2021. As of this writing, the campaign is close to meeting its target, and some of the reward tiers include a two disc vinyl soundtrack from composer Nicolas Vetterli released by iam8bit. I don’t often kickstart games, but this game’s visual style and design goals were just too interesting to pass up.
