26 CD Castlevania soundtrack collection announced for 35th anniversary

Konami released the first Castlevania game, Akumajo Dracula, for the Famicom Disk System in September 1986. Since that release, many series games have been released across a wide variety of platforms. Many of those releases are considered to be amongst the best of their respective platforms, such as Castlevania III (NES), Super Castlevania IV (SNES), Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (Playstation), Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (GBA), and Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow (NDS).

One of the series hallmarks is amazing music. From the start, Konami’s sound team, the Konami Kukeiha Club, created memorable themes like “Vampire Killer” that would be revisited throughout the next 35 years. Many composers have contributed to the musical legacy of the series, inlcuding Kinuyo Yamashita, Satoe Terashima, Kenichi Matsubara, and Michiru Yamane.

As part of the celebration for the 35th anniversary of the Castlevania series, Konami has announced an epic collection of soundtracks from over thirty games in the series. Konami is releasing two sets, each with 13 CDs on December 15th, 2021. Each set can be pre-ordered from Play Asia or Amazon Japan. Alternatively, you can use a Japan shopping service like White Rabbit Express to purchase these items directly from Konami Japan’s website. Buying both sets together from the Konami Japan website yields a bonus CD of MIDI tracks from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
