Ace Attorney 20th Anniversary vinyl set available for pre-order

The first game in the Ace Attorney series, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, was released for the Game Boy Advance in Japan in 2001, under the name Gyakuten Saiban. The text heavy adventure game was developed and published by Capcom. After the game was ported to the Nintendo DS in 2005, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney was released in North America that same year. All six of the franchise’s main games across the Nintendo DS and 3DS have been released globally, and many of the spin-off titles have also seen worldwide release. Across the entire series, Capcom has sold over 9 million units as of 2022.

The music of the Ace Attorney series is extremely popular and was composed by a variety of artists at Capcom, including Masakazu Sugimori, Naoto Tanaka (aka Akemi Kimura), Noriyuki Iwadare, Toshihiko Horiyama, Hideki Okugawa, Shu Takami and Masami Onodera. The popularity of Ace Attorney music is evidenced in variety of ways. All of the six main Ace Attorney games have soundtracks released on CD in Japan, which is not that unusual. However, there have also been many official Capcom CDs released with genre interpretations of the Ace Attorney music, such as a jazz album. There have also been numerous Ace Attorney orchestral concerts that have been performed in Japan throughout the years, many of them with CD releases. Most recently, in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the series, there was an orchestral concert streamed worldwide.

As a way of celebrating the series 20th anniversary, a vinyl music collection is being released in fall 2022. The set includes six vinyl, one for each of the main games in the series: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Justice for All, Trials and Tribulations, Apollo Justice, Dual Destinies, and Spirit of Justice. The set is available for pre-order from Laced and Light in the Attic.
